The Nest

A warm, nurturing space where our youngest children can feel safe, secure and cared for as they begin their nursery journey. The Nest provides a calm environment for babies to explore, develop and grow at their own pace, with plenty of opportunities for sensory play, discovery and meaningful interactions.

12 months – 2 years

Pips

Our Pips room is a lively and caring environment where toddlers can develop their growing independence. Through play, exploration and age-appropriate activities, children are encouraged to build confidence, communication and social skills while having lots of fun along the way.

2 – 3 years

Apples

The Apples room is a space to encourage curiosity, creativity and growing independence. Children learn through exciting play experiences, developing their language, friendships, problem-solving skills and confidence as they discover the world around them.

Trees

Funding details
Funding at this nursery

Early Years Entitlement

Government-funded hours are available for eligible families. Funded hours cover education but not snacks, meals or consumables, for which we make a small additional charge.

Working parents

9-month-old funding

All children over 9 months old of working parents, where both parents are working and earning the equivalent of at least 16 hours each with a cap of £100k per parent, are entitled to 22 hours per week all year round.

Eligible families

2-year-old funding

2-year-old children who are considered to be disadvantaged in some way are entitled to 11 hours per week all year round. The definition is wide, so please contact the nursery or BANES for more details.

Universal + working parents

3 & 4-year-old funding

All children are entitled to Early Years Entitlement, which commences the term after a child becomes 3 years old. Children are entitled to 11 hours per week all year round.

All children over 3 years old of working parents, where both parents are working and earning the equivalent of at least 16 hours each with a cap of £100k per parent, are entitled to 22 hours per week all year round.

For advice and to apply please visit Bath and North East Somerset Council or GOV.UK.

Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)

EYPP is extra funding paid to the nursery to support eligible children’s learning and development. Eligibility can depend on a number of factors. It is additional support for the nursery, rather than extra childcare hours or a payment to parents.

Please ask the nursery manager about an eligibility check. They can explain the information and consent needed and work with the council to check entitlement.

Additional voluntary charges at Midsomer Norton

Early Years entitlement hours are funded by the government rate, which does not cover snacks, meals or consumables. We charge for these additional items.
