Funding & fees made simple
Our nurseries are privately run, offering places for children from 3 months to five years, open 7.30am–6pm Monday to Friday, 51 weeks a year (excluding public holidays).
How to join us
Enquiry & visit
On enquiry, we'll arrange an introductory visit so you can meet the team and explore the nursery. Management will talk you through every aspect and answer any questions. Places are subject to availability, with a waiting list where needed.
Registration
To book your child in, you'll complete a registration document and a terms & conditions parental contract. There is a non-refundable fee of £100.00 to cover administration costs and reserve the place.
Settling in
Each child is allocated a key person — chosen by your child as someone they've formed a comforting attachment to. Settling usually takes a few weeks, with each child feeling at home after this gentle period.
Early Years Entitlement
Children may be eligible for one of the following types of Early Years Entitlement funding. Early Years entitlement hours are funded by the government rate, which does not cover snacks, meals or consumables.
9-month-old funding
All children over 9 months old of working parents, where both parents are working and earning the equivalent of at least 16 hours each with a cap of £100k per parent, are entitled to 22 hours per week all year round.
2-year-old funding
2-year-old children who are considered to be disadvantaged in some way are entitled to 11 hours per week all year round. The definition is wide, so please contact the nursery or BANES for more details.
3 & 4-year-old funding
All children are entitled to Early Years Entitlement, which commences the term after a child becomes 3 years old. Children are entitled to 11 hours per week all year round.
All children over 3 years old of working parents, where both parents are working and earning the equivalent of at least 16 hours each with a cap of £100k per parent, are entitled to 22 hours per week all year round.
For advice and to apply please visit Bath and North East Somerset Council or GOV.UK.
Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP)
EYPP is extra funding paid to the nursery to support eligible children’s learning and development. Eligibility can depend on a number of factors. It is additional support for the nursery, rather than extra childcare hours or a payment to parents.
Please ask the nursery manager about an eligibility check. They can explain the information and consent needed and work with the council to check entitlement.
How to apply
To check eligibility and apply, visit BANES Childcare for children aged nine months to four years old, or GOV.UK. We're always happy to help you understand what you're entitled to — including the Early Years Pupil Premium (EYPP).
